Some people wrongly say that your intentions are simply the result of causes and conditions and they don't have anything to do with you

But that doesn’t give you any motivation to try to make skillful choices. Those people say you have to let go of every sense of “I” because it causes you trouble. Well, it’s actually necessary for certain skillful decisions."
